EoF: Stories - Anna Fiscale, mother and social entrepreneur is the founder of Quid: an ethical fashion company that employs women and migrants with difficult stories behind.

The call by Pope Francis is a call to act and to spread experiences through networking. "I will be happy to participate in the meeting and meet other young colleagues. Together we can build an inclusive and sustainable business model." In a way, our journey starts right from Assisi, with the story of Anna Fiscale. Born in 1988, she received a scout training and developed a great sensitivity to social commitment. "Since my childhood, through my education and my spiritual growth, I have been attracted by the Franciscan message of humility, poverty and harmony with nature," says the young businesswoman and mother.

She has a degree in Economics and Commerce from Verona, two Masters in European Affairs and Economics and Management of Public Administration and International Institutions from Milan and Paris and experience in international cooperation. In India, as a project manager, she was involved in microfinance and women empowerment. In 2012 she was an intern in the European Commission. Her path therefore seemed to go in the direction of a future working in international institutions. Then she went on that trip to Haiti. Port-au-Prince - and Anna's gaze on her future changes. "I finally discovered my vocation for social entrepreneurship and I embraced the mission of taking care of both human and natural fragility as the sole objective of my work.” This is how Quid was born: an intuition, a group of friends and the trust of an experienced entrepreneur who believed in their dream. Quid today is a social enterprise that offers working opportunity to vulnerable people - especially women and migrants - who have been through difficult situations. They are victims of violence or human trafficking, people with disabilities or who have fought various types of addiction, former prisoners and migrants seeking asylum or work in Italy.

We nurture the unexplored talent of these resourceful and resilient people, involving them in the production of ethical fashion garments under the Progetto Quid label. We have 120 employees aged 18 to 65 from 15 countries. Through their work our employees create the Progetto Quid eco-label: by salvaging excess fabric nationwide - from a network of 30 textile manufacturers - we produce limited edition fashion collections for our 6 Quid stores and 100 multi-brand stores as well as co-branding with other brands. At Quid we train disadvantaged people through work, helping them to see their fragility not as a defect but as uniqueness," says Anna. And about the event in Assisi 2020 she tells us: "Reading Pope Francis' letter, I found the principles that guide my work and feed my mission to promote a socially and ecologically sustainable business model.

As an entrepreneur, I heard Francis' call to young people as a 'call for action'. I would like to share my experience, listen and be inspired by other young people to build together a fair and solidarity-based economic system. I will be honoured to meet young economists and fellow entrepreneurs to demonstrate together the value and effectiveness of inclusive and sustainable business models. I believe in the 'transforming' power of words, especially words of hope, and I know that Pope Francis will give voice to our petitions and proposals".
