From 26-28 April, the EoC of Eastern Europe will meet in Totolo Sevo, Serbia, for a weekend of communion and re-launching
Angela Illustrisimo of the Serbian EoC Commission writes to us: "Wemet again last February and together we did the operation of "removing the ashes" which in all of us covered the ardour that Chiara Lubich transmitted to us through Economy of Communion. We feel that, once the ashes have been removed, the fire is alive, and would like to reach as many people as possible. We realised that it is necessary to act, to restart through an event that will awaken us from the sleep following these years of stagnation and the consequences of Covid, the economic crisis, the relational crisis, etc. We recalled the occasions when members of the international commission came to visit us in Serbia, or the visit of Luigino Bruni, and how those events launched us and helped us to move forward with courage".
Hence the idea of organising an EoC weekend (Friday afternoon to Sunday lunchtime). The dates chosen are from 26/04 at 18:00 to Sunday 28/04 at 13:00.
The meeting is aimed at the whole of Eastern Europe, from Serbia to Hungary and Russia. The meeting will be structured as a multi-panel forum and will be designed with special attention to young people and people who are not yet familiar with the EoC; the organisers imagine it to be composed of EoC life experiences and dialogues that include all aspects of entrepreneurs' lives, even the most painful and difficult ones.
Among the themes that will be addressed are the Social Doctrine of the Church and the EoC as a response, entrepreneurship as a vocation, the culture of love and giving, etc. Visits to nearby EoC companies are planned, as well as a series of specific activities to help people in a state of vulnerability who have received support from local EoC activities in recent years.
