Best wishes for the coming Holy Christmas, from the EoC International Commission
Christmas was born with the cry of a child in the night that came to life in poverty.
His father, an entrepreneur and respected carpenter, had been unable to offer him a roof to shelter him, but he did his best.
The economy is often indigent in the face of the children’s cry in the night...But it can and must do so much to accompany every life on its path, to rebuild the common home and the paths of peace.
And it does so every time a worker lovingly handles a product that will become a gift, a sign of fraternity, a sign of love.
It does so every time an entrepreneur provides a woman or a man with a decent job so they can feed their children, every time a young person is offered trust and a future.
It does so every time when exchanges promote getting closer to each other between peoples with respect for everyone’s dignity, every time that profits foster sharing and communion.
An economy capable of such gestures continuously brings light and Christmas joy to the suffering humanity.
