Progress and news from the CONECTA project, which officially kicked off on 20 September in Barcelona and now opens its doors for an online session open to all on 6 November.
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the start of the first edition of CONECTA, a programme that brings together 20 participants from different parts of Spain and Latin America, committed to the search for a fairer and more sustainable economic future.
This exciting journey began with a weekend in Barcelona between 20 and 22 September, where the foundations were laid for an inclusive and reflective dialogue, and since then we have maintained a steady pace with weekly online sessions. In these sessions, academics and entrepreneurs shared some key concepts and experiences that enrich our understanding of today's economy.
Crucial topics have included the multifaceted crisis we are facing, the forgotten principle of fraternity, and the importance of rethinking the concept of work within a framework that promotes social transformation. A focal point of our discussions was integral ecology.
We explored business models that already incorporate sustainability in their DNA and reflected on lifestyles influenced by consumerism. In this regard, we pursued a dialogue on how spiritualities can offer a light to scale back our consumption, promoting more balanced and conscious lifestyles.
Approaching the halfway point in the process, we invited all those interested in these issues to join us for our session, which was streamed live on YouTube.
The Round Table, entitled ‘From Exclusion to Inclusion: stories of entrepreneurs and lives changed by fraternity’, was held on Wednesday 6 November from 19:00 to 21:00 (Spain).
During the Round Table, which was held in Spanish, EoC network entrepreneurs shared their experiences demonstrating how fraternity can transform the role of business in society. At the end of the session, participants interacted with the speakers via YouTube chat, taking active part in this transformative dialogue and contributing with their own ideas and questions. Together, we can move towards a more inclusive and sustainable economic model!
CONECTA is an innovative and very promising project born from the synergy of the Economy of Communion with Porticus, Istituto per il Dialogo Socratico and The Economy of Francesco. If you want to know more about the project, you can find the announcement article here.
