From 18th to 20th of October an international conference on the very current and innovative theme of relational sustainability will take place simultaneously, in Argentina and Italy
Source: New Humanity
Faced with the increasingly complex challenges of today's humanity, the genius of Albert Einstein summarized his approach as follows: "we cannot solve problems using the same mentality that created them". Today the planet is panting due to human activities: living conditions have improved unprecedentedly also thanks to the energy obtained from fossil fuels, but this progress is not immune to "collateral effects", first global warming that is upsetting the climatic balance.
To address the complexity of the global environmental and social crisis, a new cultural synthesis is needed that can integrate the different perspectives of contemporary knowledge and culture. If we can establish constructive relationships between humanity and the cosmos, and between human groups, orienting processes towards the common good of the person and nature, sustainability will develop with an emergent property, which can be qualified as "relational". This will be the core theme of the international conference organized by New Humanity and promoted by Eco One, also with the participation of the Economy of Communion, which will take place in Castel Gandolfo and Alta Gracia, with joint sessions connected between the two locations.
In the context of the conference, relational sustainability aims to represent a new cultural synthesis to address the complex socio-environmental crisis, focusing on the relationships that promote sustainability in its multiple dimensions: ecological, political, sociological, medical, legal, psychological, sporting, economic, artistic, communicative, pedagogical and architectural, in the medium and long term. This approach requires a multidisciplinary contribution and challenges us to navigate the complexities of social, economic, cultural and natural structures and their interactions.
To address the complexity of today's challenges, the conference aims to find new paths through dialogue and exchange between different disciplines, projects and experiences, thus contributing to generating an innovative result for culture and offering possible answers. Among the topics: "The environmental question in the ancestral cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean", "Transdisciplinary dialogues, from neuroscience to communication, from ecology to psychology", "The challenges of food production", "The energy transition", "Forced migrations" and many others.
It is possible to participate in the conference in person or remotely. Useful information below.
